Matthew 23:37b: How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! I love how Jesus uses life application to describe to us His heart's desire. Ladies, can you get a glimpse of this picture in your mind of the heart of our King? Of all the examples Jesus could have used to describe his love and brokenness; He uses a hen gathering her chicks under her wings to give us a peek inside His heart.
Ladies, The King longs to gather us! He longs to give His tender love freely; faithfully caring for those who will come to Him. He longs to protect us, feed us and keep us safe. So many times it is "us" that simply "will not come". We are convinced the pieces of our heart are too broken to be salvaged. Instead we chose privacy...living inside our own pain, shame, loneliness, grief, sorrow, and hopelessness. Some of us live inside "happiness". Seeing the sadness of others makes us feel guilty to actually be "happy". It's no secret "woman" is complicated! We are complex! We are terrific "maskers". Goshen Church of God "Gathering Hearts" Ladies Ministry desires to "gather" all hearts...great or small, sad or hurting, or happy and healthy. No matter the condition of your heart, we love you!
